Principle
means a guiding rule or foundational truth that makes something effective.
There are different guiding rules to arrive at different results. So it
is in the Kingdom of God, for God is orderly (Prov. 28:9) and it takes decency
and orderliness to relate with Him. There are guiding rules to prayer that must
be followed if you must have an answer to your prayers. PRAYER
· Prayer is
communion with God. Matt. 7:7, Jer.
29:11-12; 33:3
· It is asking and
receiving from God.
· Prayer is asking God to intervene in a given
situation on the basis of His Word.
· It is laying hold
on God's willingness and ability to get what He has already promised us in
Christ Jesus.
In other words:
Prayer is the key that unlocks a joyous
Christian life
Prayer is cornerstone of Christianity. John.
16:24
Prayer is the breath of regenerated Spirit
What Prayer Is
Not?
· Prayer is not a
monologue, you just dropping your request before God and turning your back.
· It is not
complaining and telling Him our problems.
Matt. 6:32 (God knows)
· Prayer is not
begging God to do things for us.
· Not a way of
overcoming God's reluctance, Prayer cannot change God but changes situations
Heb. 13:8, Mal. 3:6
· Your emotions
will not move God against His word but your passion in prayer based on His word
will move Him.
PRINCIPLES OF ANSWERED
PRAYER
To know how to pray is not
by praying but learning to pray. Prayer
is an art to be developed.
Prayer prayed according to the principles will attract answers:
· Daniel prayed and
received an answer
· Elijah prayed and
the fire fell
· The Apostles
prayed and had their petition met - Acts 4:29-31,5:12 answer
If you pray aright 100 times a day, you will receive 100 answers.
In response to the
desperate desire of the disciples, Jesus taught them to pray and that became
the Model Prayer which is the bedrock of how to prayer
