is assisting Tanzania reduce
rates of chronic under

nutrition and maternal
anemia through stronger integrated
nutrition,
health and agriculture programs and services at the
district and community levels focusing
efforts in areas with high rates of chronic
malnutrition.
Program
Goals
The goals of USAID’s Nutrition program are to:

Reduce stunting in children under five by 20% in
Feed the Future
zones of influence
regions
(
Morogoro, Dodoma, Manyara, Iringa, Njombe and Mbeya
)
.
•
Reduce anemia in women of reproductive ages in
zones of influence
•
Improve nutrition status of people infected
by HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis
•
Improve food security and nutritional status of
orphans
and vulnerable children
