USAID Boresha Maisha Project is a five
years project (October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2021) funded by the American
People through USAID that aims at supporting the Government of Tanzania (GOT)
to increase access to high quality, comprehensive and integrated health
services, especially for women and youth, with a focus on maternal, neonatal,
child and reproductive health and nutrition outcomes.
EngenderHealth is
seeking applications from highly qualified Tanzanian candidates to fill in the
following positions for USAID Boresha Maisha Project.

Community Engagement Coordinator (1
Position based in Dar es Salaam)
Position Description: The FP
Community Engagement Coordinator, based in Dar es Salaam, will have overall
responsibility for leading the Project’s interventions to improve integrated
community health though innovative education, research, community engagement
and link to health care delivery system.
The FP Community Engagement
Coordinator will provide leadership, direction, management, and
administration of community health interventions. S/he will identify strategic
opportunities with senior management, community health partners, academic
institutions and government officials in the development of strategic programs,
innovations and initiative to ensure efficient delivery of integrated FP/RH
services to the target community. S/he
will report directly to the Technical Director and work closely the CHSD Project’s
senior staff, field Program Officers and monitoring, evaluation and research
unit to provide technical assistance and guidance for community engagement
activities regionally. S/he will liaise
with EngenderHealth staff worldwide for technical discussions, resource
requests and/or technical materials as needed.
Key Qualifications:
·
Must
possess a university degree community development,
public health, sociology or other relevant social sciences discipline.
·
Masters of Public Health degree
or other relevant social sciences discipline is highly desirable.
·
7+ years in working at the community level demand creation
interventions; deep knowledge of FP/RH IEC/BCC material with additional
technical expertise in health system and capacity.
·
Ability to develop and apply concepts, interventions, and
strategies to a range of community development concerns, with strong background
in program design, implementation and monitoring of results.
·
Experience with FP/RH programs is highly desirable.
·
Previous experience working with regional and district
authorities, especially regional and district development officers, and
community health providers.
·
Experience in presenting findings, results and lessons
learned to a variety of audiences is desirable.
·
At least 3 years of experience working with NGOs in
planning, designing, budgeting, managing, supervising, evaluating and
documenting health programs is preferred.
·
Experience working for international agencies and
USAID-funded health programs is preferred.
·
Experience working in a matrix management environment.
·
Demonstrated ability to work independently and function
effectively as part of a team, and to manage multiple priorities.
·
Experience writing reports for donor funded projects
·
Excellent interpersonal skills (e.g., active listening,
cultural competence, responsiveness).
·
Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
are a must.
·
Fluency in
Kiswahili and spoken and written English is required.
·
Ability to
travel approximately 30% of his/her time to supervise and support field activities.

Community Engagement Officer (1
Position based in Dar es Salaam)
Position
Description: The position will be based in Dar
es Salaam but providing technical support to specific regions and districts of
focus under the Comprehensive Health
Services Delivery (CHSD) Project. In collaboration Ministry of
Health Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children
(MOHSW)
colleagues, s/he will provide technical assistance for developing and
maintaining mechanisms to facilitate coordination and linkages of demand
creation and community engagement to
reach its goals through effective information, education, communications and
community engagement approaches. S/he will build relationships with different
stakeholders and community leaders within the region offices in order to foster
community engagement for family planning and other reproductive health
services, and link facility care to community mobilization and services.
Key Qualification:
§ First degree in
community development, public health, sociology or other relevant social
sciences discipline.
§ 2+ years in working
at the community level demand creation interventions; deep knowledge of
Reproductive Health and Family Planning IEC/BCC materials.
§ Previous experience
working with district authorities, especially district development officers,
and community health providers.
§ Proficient in
Swahili, and English.
§ Experience writing
reports for donor funded projects.
