MINISTRY
The pursuit of God's plan of vision is what is called ministry. It is not restricted to the pulpit whatever divine assignment that one is engaged in is termed ministry.
EXCELLENCE
It is the product of the personal commitment to being outstandingly successful in whatever area of life. To excel in life is not accidental neither is it hand down by parents. It is a deliberate and conscious step towards attaining a goal in life.
ACCEPTING YOUR INDIVIDUALITY
The starting block in excellence in Ministry is not in the classroom of academic institution but rather in our spiritual creation. Our peculiar nature was not contracted by social status rather it was made available for us by divine power. “According to his divine power has given unto us” 2 Peter 1: 3.
To appreciate and accept your individuality you must:
1. KNOW WHO YOU ARE:
Treasure Ex 19 : 5
Chosen Deut 14 : 2
Exalted Eph 2 : 6
Overcomer I John 5:4
Sent John 20:21
In the words of Dr. David Oyedepo “If you are going to walk in your victory, you must be fully aware of your identification with Christ in every stage of his redemptive work”.
2. AVOID BETRAYAL OF SELF Judges 6:15; Ex. 3: 11
This is trying to judge, evaluate and relegate yourself because of background, past failures, past negative experience and by unfavourable evaluation of people. By this you end up seeing yourself as inferior and imprisoned by your own thought. To avoid this:
a) Appreciate that with salvation came redemption from condemnation and our negative and uncolorful past. 2Cor.5:7
b) See yourself in the mirror of who God says you are. Mat.5:13-14
c) Begin to live in the consciousness of the value placed on you by God.Mat.10:29-31
VISION
His thought and plan for you is what is enveloped as your vision. Jer 29 :11.
Upon enquiry God will unfold iut to you as part of his commitment to your success in life. Jer.33:3. A life without vision is a waste. Prov.29:18
WHAT ABOUT VISION:
1. DISCOVERY
Vision is not purchased, it is a product of discovery when you discover God's divine assignment for your life, you cease from struggles. “...set me upon the tower and will watch” (Hab. 2:1).
2. IT IS CLEAR AND PRECISE (HAB 2: 2)
Vision must be put down and documented as received. Vision is meant to be run with, not to sit with. Every detail must be enquired for and received.
Vision must be well understood (Dan:6; 10:1)
3. VISION GIVES FOCUS
There There is strength in focus, if your focus is maintained excellence must be your result. (Matt.6:22 - 24). Focus is the antidote to distraction.
4. Vision is given to an individual not to friends or colleagues. Dan.10:7,

PLANNING
Every great edifice that is today standing is an acknowledgement to great planning. Prov. 24:3- 4 (Living Bible)
THE PLACE OF THE MIND IN PLANNING
Planning is a product of deep reasoning i.e. pondering on the available facts
on an issue to come up with the best, profitable and productive approach to
the execution of a project.
The Mind is the seat of intellect and emotions where reasoning takes place.
Planning, decision making and generation of wisdom are accomplished in the mind or soul. The regenerated man has a mind of Christ. So his capacity is quite unlike the natural man
BENEFITS OF THINKING
When the mind is subjected to vigorous thinking, excellence is the result (II Chr. 26:15).
Before any great rising there must be first sitting down to think through obstacles.

PLACE OF TIME IN PLANNING
Planning is incomplete and effective without the element of time
attached. To be a good planner you must be a good time manager.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Eccl. 3:1).
Ministry is in phases and every phase has its time. Without proper understanding of divine timing, nothing can be accomplished in ministry Hab. 2:3, Lk 2:49
PREPARATION: (JOSH 22: 26-27)
What you don’t prepare to excel in, is what you have indirectly prepared to fail in. 2Chro. 27:6
Whatever is not prepared for will not manifest excellence ENEMIES OF MAKING PREPARATION
1. Haste (Prov. 14:29).
2. Trusting in Man (Isaiah 31:1).
3. Over-estimation of self (I Cor. 10: 12).
Preparation represent the waiting period for the details to be delivered. This applies to both physical and spiritual preparation.
CONDITIONS FOR PREPARATION
1. Be still and Quiet (Mtt. 5:1)
2. Be separated (Mtt. 5:1)
3. Be studious (II Tim 2:15)
4. Love (Mtt. 22:37–39)
5. Personal Spiritual Development (11 Tim 2:20).
LESSON TWO
SOURCE OF THE MESSAGE
“Until you hear God, men will not hear you (Dr. David Oyedepo). No ministry can ever succeed except the Lord builds it. Ps.23:1–3; Ps. 127:1

A. THE LORD AS YOUR SHEPHERD (PS. 23:1-3).
God is the only source of endless supply in Ministry, including His message to His people
B. INFORMATION 2 Tim. 2:15
In the school of excellence, information is a vital key for operation”.
Any area you are not informed you cannot excel. Your message gains expression with your level of information.
C. LOVE
Love endears you to God's secrets. The one you love, you show your secret chambers. Joh 14:21, 23
THE VOICE OF THE SPIRIT
God is strongly committed to leading us because we are the sheep of His pasture. He wants us to enjoy profit (excellence) in all we do, so He will lead us the way we should go. Is. 48:17. His leads us by the voice of the Spirit because God is Spirit and we are also spirit being living in the body.
