Salary This is a voluntary position but honorarium of $800 will be paid for the whole period upon satisfactory accomplishment of assigned tasks
Preferred start date 20th January 2017
Length of contract 10 months (January to November 2017)
Essential requirements Nationals of the participating countries (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia and Ghana) aged 18-24 years
Must hold valid passport and associated travel documents or demonstrate timeliness to secure them
Reports to Programme Coordinator. While this is the case, the young person will be expected to work more virtually (online) and independently (in a country team) to deliver the expected outputs
Expected travel There will be travel to 3 convenings in 2017 that will include the design workshop (in Uganda), Analysis workshop and launch events to be hosted in the participating countries that will be confirmed
KEY PRIORITIES
• Attend and contribute to the research design by providing country specific context based on your experiences and lived realities of youth in your country
• Liaise with country team of 4 peers to lead quality data collection from young people, government, Private Sector, Civil Society, communities and other stakeholders
• Analyse collated data to generate country specific report
• Validate initial research findings through targeted community workshops and with The MasterCard Foundation partners and other development agencies
• Disseminate research findings through launch events convened by Restless Development and The MasterCard Foundation and through your planned in country spaces
